The Explorer menu
Choose pictures in Explorer, right-click, and pick what to make of them. Cobalt Photo does it without opening a window, and puts the results next to them.
In the right-click menu
Right-click one picture or many in Explorer or on the desktop: Cobalt Photo is in the menu, with:
| Command | What you get |
|---|---|
| To JPG | A JPG of each, for everyone to open — a HEIC from an iPhone, a WebP saved from a website. |
| To PNG | A PNG of each, nothing lost. |
| Smaller for mail | Each with its long side as set in Settings → Drop panel → Smaller for mail (2048 pixels as it comes). |
| Remove location | A copy of each without where it was taken and the camera's data. |
| To PDF | One PDF, a page for each picture. |
The results go next to the pictures; the originals are never changed. A name already taken is not written over: the new file gets a number.
The menu is there for every picture Cobalt Photo reads: photos, HEIC, WebP, AVIF, JPEG XL, TIFF, GIF, BMP, icons, Photoshop and Krita files, TGA. On Windows 11 it is in the first, short menu, not only under Show more options.
Open with
Open with → Cobalt Photo Viewer opens a picture in the viewer once; to have pictures always open there with a double click, see Open pictures with a double click.
For more than that
